HOW TO MAKE YOUR USB DRIVE BOOTABLE

Making a Bootable USB for BIOS-based PCs

To check if your PC is BIOS-based(Basic Input Output System) or UEFI-based(Unified Extensible Firmware Interface), you can refer to my other topic " How to check if my computer is using UEFI or BIOS Firmware interface".

Traditional way of installing Operating systems like windows XP, 7 or 8 uses DVD-ROMs to run the CD/DVD installer, although its still applicable. But nowadays, since they are making laptops thinner, like ultrabooks, lightweight laptops eliminated the dvd-roms, and now they are using external dvd drives. But how about those who doesn't have one? Now we use our USB drives to install our operating systems which is more handy and portable. I'll be introducing an easy method that uses a small software application called "Rufus" to create a bootable dvd and include the Operating system as well. Go to Rufus website to download (https://rufus.akeo.ie/)
