Is there any media player software or add-ons for existing PC media players that could "bookmark" a MP3 (or any other type of file) so it would resume playing where it was when I stopped it. I am looking for something to help me with audio books i listen to on the PC.

Welcome to the WindowsForums! LubeckTech

Below is the description of likely the only pc player found that bookmarks mp3 playback.

DRAWBACK? That is a Linux player! That is likely the closest you will come to one for pc since everything is geared more for portable players when it comes to mp3s.

The best reference found for "MP3 Players with Bookmark Capability" in general is seen at http://www.andrewdav...with-bookmarks/

It's an interesting problem since that reference is already 3yr.s old at this time. If you do find a solution for pc let us know.

Most of the time the references for bookmarks are mainly for portable players like the IPod on that idea. This is one open source player however you may find useful. Here's a brief description for the KABook seen at http://kabook.sourceforge.net/

with number pad control is optimal for all listeners,
audio learners, dyslectic, low vision, and blind.
Bookmark links to the mp3 position while listening.
Associated text linked to the mp3 is accessible
by a large font text editor and espeak tts.
